About ASDBUDDY
What is ASDBUDDY?
ASDBUDDY is a learning platform that teaches parents and professionals NDBI, the modern, naturalistic approach to autism intervention. It was founded in Mumbai by Sudha K Y, an NDBI-certified counselling psychologist and a parent herself. Read Sudha’s story.
What is NDBI?
NDBI stands for Naturalistic Developmental Behavioral Intervention. It combines developmental science with behavioural science to build communication, engagement, play and learning within everyday routines. It was developed and validated by the international scientific community, and is recommended by WHO, Stanford Medicine, Seattle Children’s Hospital and others.
How is NDBI different from traditional ABA?
Traditional ABA often relies on structured, therapist-led drills. NDBI is child-led and happens in natural moments such as play, meals and bath time, with the parent at the centre. It focuses on motivation, shared engagement and real communication, not compliance.
What are the 10 Freedoms?
The 10 Freedoms is ASDBUDDY’s own growth model. It shows how NDBI flows in practice, stage by stage, so it is easier to understand and use at home. Each Freedom describes how a child relates to the world today, and what to work on next. Explore the 10 Freedoms.
For parents
How do I know which Freedom my child is at?
Take the free 3-minute reflection: 15 quick questions about everyday life with your child. Then watch Sudha explain the matching Freedoms, and confirm the stage with her on a free 10-minute call.
Is the reflection a diagnosis?
No. It is a reflection tool for parents, not a medical or psychological diagnosis. It helps you find a starting point for learning.
Who are the parent courses for?
Parents and caregivers of autistic children who want to understand what their child is experiencing and how to guide them at home. Our book and many courses are especially suited to parents of children under 7.
How much time do I need?
The lessons are short and self-paced. You apply them within things you already do with your child, such as play, meals and bath time, so learning fits into your day rather than adding to it.
Do I need to talk to someone before choosing a course?
We recommend it. A free 10-minute call with Sudha helps confirm your child’s stage and which course to begin with. Most families need only one or two Freedom courses before continuing confidently on their own.
Courses and pricing
Is there anything free?
Yes. The free plan includes the ASDBUDDY app, access to blogs and the community, one week of content on each Freedom course, and 3 free courses on autism learning (100 days, about 10 hours of self-study). See all plans.
What does guided self-study include?
100 days of access to ASDBUDDY self-study courses, plus a live group Q&A for parents every 15 days (recorded). In each live Q&A, every family gets an individual 10 minutes: 3 minutes to show a video of their child, 7 minutes to discuss it.
What is the personalised programme?
A hand-held, goal-oriented NDBI programme: 12 individual appointments of 90+ minutes within 15 weeks. Goals are set together, you share a video in each meeting, and your consultant gives feedback and a plan for the following week. The fee is ₹54,000 (or $600), paid once. Ask on WhatsApp.
Is there an app?
Yes. The ASDBUDDY app is available on Google Play and the App Store, and gives access to your courses, videos and weekly activities.
